The Annual Memorial Day USO Dance is coming up Saturday May 23rd after the Charleston Workshop with Rob & Dawn at the Longwood Ballroom. The live band this year is “Kid Dutch and his Blusicians”! They will be playing all your favorite 40’s tunes, so step back in time and step out on the dance floor!
This is one of the best times all year to pull out your vintage outfits, since there will be a drawing for two VIP Passes for those in vintage, one for the ladies and one for the guys!
As always, there will be a beginner lesson from 8pm to 9pm that is designed to get you out dancing by the end of the hour, and even better, the lesson is included with admission!
Admission $12 per person.
Charleston Workshop!
Rob & Dawn will be teaching an afternoon Charleston workshop on Saturday, May 23rd (Memorial Day weekend). This workshop will teach you the foundation of 30’s style Charleston and how to integrate it into your swing dancing (no matter what style you do). It will start with side-by-side moves and move into crossovers, holds, and flip-flops. The class will then introduce tandem (front-back) Charleston and moves. If there is time, we may even cover some cool variations like Savoy Kicks. Be sure to reserve your spot soon! Click here for more info.
