The next dance will feature DJ Natch and an extra low student discount, so mark your calendars! DJ Natch has been an Orlando DJ and dancers for years and we’re excited to have him back out at Orlando Swing Dance!

There will be a free beginner swing dance lesson by Josh & Jessica from 7pm to 8pm that will take you from the very basic and then teach you 3 or 4 moves you can enjoy practicing right away at the dance that follows.

50′s Sock Hop

The annual Sock Hop is coming up Saturday, April 28th! That’s right, pull out those poodle skirts and get ready to dance the night away to some of the best rock-in-roll around. Vintage 50′s dressing is encouraged but not required at all, so if you don’t feel like dressing up, just come as you are!

DJ Steve, all the way up from Tampa, will be spinnn’ the best in 1950’s rock-in-roll that’s sure to keep the dance floor hoppin’ all night long. Be sure not to miss out on this once a year event!

In between sets, we have a wide range of music by DJ Josh to keep you out on the floor, so bring your danc’n shoes and energy, because you’ll need it!

Don’t know how to dance? The dance will start with a beginner swing dance lesson at 7pm. This will teach you the basics and a few moves and have you up to speed in no time.

Valentine Swing Dance

The next dance is the annual Valentine Swing Dance! This is one of our favorite dances of the year! So grab that special someone or come out and meet that special someone. Keeping with the yearly tradition, we will have a special Jack & Jill dance contest with prizes. Don’t have a partner? No problem! This is the contest for you as we try to make a dance floor match made in heaven. You’ll be randomly paired with a partner to compete in this audience judged contest. If you are interested in throwing your name in the hat, be sure to sign up at the door early as contestants will be limited.

Thank you to everyone for a making it a great year of dancing! Remember there’s no 4th Saturday Dance in December, but we’ll see you back on January 14th with an exciting new band… The Mud Flappers!

“FLORIDANA,” no better word could be used to describe the eclectic sounds of The Mud Flappers. A genre spawned from the art and culture of the swampland they call home.

Brandishing a wide arsenal of traditional acoustic instruments, this seven piece mini-orchestra has developed a reputation for ecstatic live performances and infectious onstage energy. Pulling influences every which way from the blazing bluegrass of Earl Scruggs, roaming melodies of gypsy swing à la Django Reinhardt, and the prohibitionary jazz of your local speakeasy!

This sonic gumbo is held together by the sultrily celestial harmonies of leading ladies, Lauren Carder and Sarah Elizabeth Patrick. Even the most gentle of men transform into drunken scoundrels, while the prudish are left with a case of the vapors after seeing these flappers strut their stuff.

If you love to dance, you WILL LOVE this band!

Orlando Swing Dance’s Christmas Gala will feature Florida’s finest 18 Piece Big Band, “The New Tradition Jazz Ensemble” with tons of new Christmas arrangements, plus DJ Josh will be spin’ all your favorite danceable Christmas music between sets!

Suggested dress for the evening is Holiday Dressy or semi-formal, but of course remember the comfortable shoes (no spiked heels)!

Turkey Dance!

Come out and dance off all that turkey and pie! Have friends and family in town? Get out of the house and bring them with you, or leave them home to do the dishes while you dance! This a great night as we always have dancers from around the country who are in town for the holiday, so come out and reconnect with old friends and make some new ones!
