Mark your calendars for the annual Christmas Swing Dance! On Saturday, December 12th we’ll be celebrating the season with a special night of holiday swing music mixed in with all your regular favorites. The venue will be decked out, so dress in your danceable Christmas best and come out for one of the best dances of the year!
The next swing dance is Thanksgiving weekend, Saturday Nov. 28th. That’s right, this is your chance to come out and dance off all the turkey, mashed potatoes, and pie that was consumed during the Thankgiving holiday. Better yet, bring family and friends out dancing as well! Family friendly (all ages welcome!) and no partner required.

Saturday, November 14th
This Orlando Swing Dance will feature music by “Kid Dutch and his Blusicians”. This band is sure to keep you movin’ on the dance floor all night long. This band knows what the dancers want and they crank out pure musical inspiration. …and it doesn’t stop there! These guys are one of the most entertaining bands around… fun for dancers and non-dancers alike. They’ll be playing the music of Louis Jordan, Smiley Lewis, Fats Waller, Slim Gaillard, Cab Calloway, Fats Domino, B.B. King, and many others.
In addition the night will kick off early with a very special Dips and Tricks class by Joe & Tabitha at 7pm! Originally residents of the Orlando scene, Joe & Tabitha now regularly teach in Washington DC. This class is open to anyone who knows the swing basic and wants to add some flash into their dancing. The regular beginner swing lesson will follow at 8pm with Rob and Dawn Shrewsbury teaching. As always, dancing starts at 9pm and goes to midnight.

Pick out your favorite Halloween Costume and get ready to show it off in our annual Halloween Costume Contest and Swing Dance! Not only will there be great prizes, but our DJ will be playing all the best in Halloween Swing Dance Music, that’s right, there is such a thing!
The dance will feature a killer costume contest with some awesome prizes, including passes to the November 14th live band dance and a 6 month free dance pass! So start thinking of some original consume ideas now! We;ll be looking for creativity. It’s a family friendly event, so yes, your consumes must cover all your “bits & pieces”. There will be lots of candy, decorations and a heaping helping of great swing music to dance to all night long!
Family friendly and admission is only $7.00!
As always, there will be a beginer lesson included with admission! Local instructors Josh & Maria will be teaching!
Rob & Dawn
The next dance is this Saturday, Oct. 10th, with long time local instructors Rob & Dawn Shrewsbury teaching the beginning lesson from 8pm – 9pm. As always the lesson is included with admission! Then Rob will be spinning the tunes for the dance, his music is sure to keep the floor hoppin’ all night!

Next Series Class – Balboa!
Also note the next series class is starting Sunday, November 1st. This 4 week series class is on Balboa, a popular vintage dance that allows you to dance to very fast music! The class will be taught by long standing local instructors Rob & Dawn Shrewsbury of Flying Footwork Productions.
This is a great class and I highly recommend it!

The twice annual Sock Hop is coming up this Saturday September 26th at the Whirl & Twirl!
That’s right, pull out those poodle skirts and get ready to dance the night away to some of the best rock-in-roll around. Vintage dressing is encouraged but not required at all, so if you don’t feel like dressing up, just come as you are! 
DJ Steve, all the way up from Tampa, will be spinnn’ the best in 1950’s rock-in-roll that’s sure to keep the dance floor hoppin’ all night long. Be sure not to miss out on this twice a year event!
As always, there will be a beginner swing dance lesson from 8pm – 9pm included with admission! Maria & Josh will be teaching the basic steps and a couple cool moves to get you out on the dance floor by the end of the hour!
